The August Break

For the past two years I have taken part in Susannah Conway's August Break and I am joining in again this year.  During the month of August, lots of bloggers all over the world will be taking photographs and posting one on their blogs every day.

This year in particular I am looking forward to it as an opportunity to use my camera, as I haven't been taking as many photographs as usual for a long time. I hope the plan to post one here every day will help to inspire me.

I'll be posting a photo every day, probably mostly without words, but I might write something now and then too. See you back here on Thursday with my first picture!

  1. Looking forward to seeing yours.... and re comment left on the post before this, am interested in the fact you had a Humanist wedding as I have been looking at the movement lately.

    1. We loved our wedding - we just wrote the entire ceremony ourselves, from what the celebrant said, to our vows, and were able in that way to make it very personal to us. We had to nip off to the Register Office a couple of days before to do the necessary legal bits however, as Humanist weddings aren't legal in England (yet. They are legal in Scotland).

PS - I am SO behind on my afghan squares...ah well, they will be a good winter project :)

    1. Welcome aboard, Renee, I've done August Break the last two times and always really enjoy it. This year is the first time there have been prompts, and I probably won't follow them, sometimes I find prompts a bit stressful and would rather do my own thing. I've missed your afghan aquare posts - I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished item eventually!

  4. Oooh, another Autum Break-er :) I'm using it as an excuse to post less and photograph more, while focusing on a new project I'm starting - but may do a round up at the end! Looking forward to catching up with yours xx
